The Alocasia Frydek Variegata is one of the most beautiful plants you will see in your lifetime and a must have for all plant collectors. It is a rare and captivating tropical houseplant prized for its dramatic, velvety foliage and striking cream-white variegation. Each leaf is a work of art — deep emerald to dark forest green, painted with irregular splashes or marbled streaks of white and soft green. The leaves are arrow- or heart-shaped, with bold, pale veins that stand out against the velvety surface, giving the plant a lush, almost regal appearance.

Light

• Bright, indirect light is ideal.

• Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the variegated (white) parts.

• Too little light may cause fading of variegation or slower growth.

💧 Water

• Keep the soil evenly moist, but not soggy.

• Water when the top 2–3 cm (1 in) of soil feels dry.

• Ensure good drainage; never let it sit in water.

🌿 Humidity & Temperature

• Prefers high humidity (60–80%).

• Mist the leaves, use a humidifier, or group plants together.

• Ideal temperature: 18–27 °C (65–80 °F).

• Avoid drafts or cold below 15 °C (59 °F).

🌱 Soil

• Use a well-draining aroid mix:
  → equal parts peat or coco coir, perlite, and orchid bark.

• Slightly acidic to neutral pH is best (around 6–7).

🌸 Fertilizer

• During the growing season (spring–summer):
  → Use a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks.

• Reduce or stop feeding in fall and winter.

🪴 Repotting & Growth

• Repot every 1–2 years, or when roots start circling the pot.

• Use a pot with drainage holes.

• Wipe leaves regularly to prevent dust buildup.

⚠️ Common Issues

• Yellow leaves → overwatering.

• Crispy edges or brown tips → low humidity or inconsistent watering.

• Drooping → either under- or overwatering.
