Stromanthe Triostar 45cm

Dhs. 149.00

  • Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. More gentle light helps maintain the pink/cream variegation. Avoid strong direct afternoon sun, which can scorch or fade the leaves.
  • Water: Keep the soil slightly and consistently moist, but never soggy. Water when roughly the top 2–3 cm (1 inch) feels dry, then let excess water drain completely.
  • Water quality: Stromanthe can be sensitive to minerals and chemicals in tap water. Filtered, distilled, or rainwater can help prevent crispy brown tips.
  • Humidity: Aim for 60%+ humidity if possible. Dry air is one of the most common reasons the leaf edges turn brown.
  • Temperature: About 18–27°C (65–80°F). Keep it away from AC vents, heaters, and cold drafts.
  • Soil & pot: Use an airy, well-draining houseplant mix—potting soil with perlite and some coco coir/bark works well. The pot should have a drainage hole.
  • Feeding: During spring and summer, use a balanced houseplant fertilizer at around ½ strength every 4–6 weeks. Reduce or stop feeding when growth slows.
  • Leaf care: Remove fully damaged leaves at the base and occasionally wipe the foliage. Watch the undersides for spider mites, especially in dry conditions.

A particularly useful rule for Stromanthe is moist soil + high humidity, without permanently wet roots. If the leaves curl inward, check for dry soil/air; if they develop yellowing and soft stems while the soil stays wet, reduce watering and check drainage.

🐾 Pet-friendly: Stromanthe is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a good choice for pet-friendly homes. Even so, it’s best to discourage pets from chewing the leaves, since eating plant material can still cause mild stomach upset.
