š± What makes it special
-
It has soft pink, creamy white, and green marbled foliage.
-
Itās very humidity-sensitive; high humidity is required to prevent wilting and dryness.Ā The leaves fold inwards at night (a āsensitive plantā behavior).Ā
Because of the variegation (less chlorophyll in parts of leaves), itās more delicate: less tolerance for low light, drought stress, etc.
š Light
-
Provide bright, indirect light. Variegated leaves need more light than fully green forms, but avoid harsh direct midday sun that might scorch the pink/white parts.
š§ Watering
-
Keep soil moist but not waterlogged; Iād let the top ~1-2 cm dry before watering again.
-
The soil medium should drain well. Variegated plants are more prone to root problems if too wet.
š”ļø Temperature & Humidity
-
Ideal temps are like most tropicals: roughly 25ā30 °C (77-86 °F)Ā
-
Very high humidity is beneficial, especially for keeping the variegation pink and avoiding brown edges. Some sellers say 90% humidity when propagating/growing actively.Ā
-
Good air circulation helps prevent fungal issues but avoid drying drafts.
šæ Soil / Medium
-
Use a light, airy mix. Sellers are using sphagnum moss + perlite, or moss + perlite blends.Ā
-
It should retain moisture but still drain well, to avoid waterlogging.
šŖ“ Pot & Repotting
-
Pot with drainage holes.
-
Because the plant is delicate and slow in some cases, donāt disturb the roots often. Only repot when it outgrows the container.
š½ļø Feeding / Fertilizer
-
During active growth, feed with a balanced, diluted fertilizer. Because variegated parts have less chlorophyll, avoid over-fertilizing (can burn).
-
Might benefit from occasional foliar sprays/mists (if safe) in humid conditions.
š Night behaviour
-
Leaves fold inward at night (sensitive plant trait). Thatās natural. Donāt worry when you see thisājust ensure rest period at night (lower light).
