Philodendron Micans Variegated

Dhs. 425.00

Light

  • Bright indirect light is essential to maintain variegation.
  • Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun — it can scorch the lighter sections.
  • Too little light causes:
    • fading variegation
    • leggy growth
    • smaller leaves

An east-facing window or a few feet back from a south/west window works well.

Water

  • Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry.
  • Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy.
  • Variegated micans are more prone to root rot if overwatered.

A chunky aroid mix helps:

  • potting soil
  • orchid bark
  • perlite/pumice
  • optional coco chips

Humidity & Temperature

This plant prefers tropical conditions:

  • Humidity: 60%+ ideally
  • Temperature: 18–29°C (65–85°F)

Low humidity can cause crispy edges or stuck unfurling leaves.

Fertilizer

  • Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.
  • Reduce feeding in winter.

Growth Habit

It can:

  • trail from a hanging pot
  • climb a moss pole for larger leaves

Climbing usually encourages bigger, more dramatic foliage.
