Light: Thrives best in well lit, bright conditions, however direct sunlight will scorch the leaves.
Water: Keep the compost moist with warm water. Do not allow the soil to dry out. Little and often is a good approach. Overwatering can cause root rot.
Temperature: Needs to be kept warm, ideally between 18-22°C.
Humidity: Thrives in a moist environment with above average humidity. Ideally suited for kitchens and bathrooms and will appreciate a good misting.
Feed: Apply a slow release fertiliser once a month during the growing season.
Care Tips: Alocasia have a dormant period where leaves will fade and die so do not be alarmed when this happens. During this period, the plants will require less water, so simply moisten the soil from time to time.
Size: 90cm, comes in regular nursery pot. Alocasia are fast growing in the right conditions.
Toxicity: These plants are harmful if eaten end and are a skin and eye irritant. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
