Scindapsus Mayari

Scindapsus Mayari is a rare variegated tropical plant with creamy white and green leaves. It grows slowly compared to regular Scindapsus because of the high variegation.

Light

• Bright indirect light is best
• Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun
• More light = better variegation
• Too little light can make leaves greener

Water

• Let the top 30–40% of soil dry before watering
• Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain
• Do not keep soil constantly wet

A chunky airy mix works best:

• orchid bark
• perlite/pumice
• coco chips or peat
• a little potting soil

Humidity

• Prefers medium to high humidity (60%+ ideal)
• Can adapt to normal indoor humidity
• Good airflow helps prevent rot

Temperature

• Ideal: 20–30°C
  

Fertilizer

• Light feeding during active growth
• Once monthly with diluted balanced fertilizer is enough

Common Problems

• Yellow leaves → overwatering
• Brown crispy edges → low humidity or underwatering
• Loss of variegation → insufficient light
• Mushy stem → root rot

Growth Tips

• It climbs better than trails
• Moss pole or support can produce larger leaves
• Growth is usually slow but steady

Potting

Since yours is highly decorative and compact:

• Use a small pot
• Avoid oversized pots
• Ceramic pots with drainage work best
