Alocasia Macrorhizza Variegata

Dhs. 350.00

The Alocasia Macrorrhiza Variegata, also known as Variegated Giant Taro or Variegated Elephant Ear, is a striking cultivar of the Alocasia macrorrhiza species, prized for its large, variegated leaves.  The variegation patterns can vary, with some leaves exhibiting more white or cream variegation than others. The overall effect is bold and eye-catching.

Growing Conditions: This plant thrives in warm, humid environments with bright, indirect light. It prefers well-draining soil and regular watering, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Providing high humidity levels, either through misting or by placing the plant on a pebble tray filled with water, can also promote healthy growth.

Care: Relatively low-maintenance but requires attention to its growing conditions. It benefits from occasional pruning to remove dead or damaged foliage and encourage new growth. Additionally, fertilize the plant sparingly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.

Like many other Alocasia species, the Alocasia Macrorrhiza contains oxalate crystals, which can be toxic if ingested.
