Light

• Needs full sun — minimum 6 hours daily.

• Indoors - very bright conservatory/sunroom.

💧 Watering

• In the ground: Deep water every 1–2 weeks in hot, dry periods. Let the soil dry slightly in between.

• In a pot: Water more often (roots dry faster). Always allow excess water to drain.

• Avoid soggy soil — olives hate “wet feet.”

🌱 Soil & Pot

• Free-draining soil is essential (sandy or loamy).

• If potted: use a large container with drainage holes, filled with potting soil mixed with grit or perlite.

✂️ Pruning (for a 2 m tree)

• Best time: December to March every month 

• Remove:

  • Dead or weak twigs

  • Crossing branches

  • Suckers from the base or trunk

• Shape: Keep a balanced canopy with open space for light & air.

🍊 Feeding

• Spring → Apply a balanced fertilizer (NPK) or slow-release citrus/olive feed.

• Summer → Supplement with liquid feed every 2–4 weeks if in a pot.

• Compost or well-rotted manure can be spread around the base in spring.
