πΏ Yucca Plant Care Guide
βοΈ Light
-
Indoors: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate direct sun (even a few hours daily).
-
Outdoors: Thrives in full sun. Tolerates partial shade, but best growth happens with plenty of sunlight.
π§ Watering
-
Water sparingly β allow the top 5β8 cm (2β3 inches) of soil to dry out between waterings.
-
In winter, reduce watering further.
-
Avoid soggy soil β root rot is the biggest threat.
π‘οΈ Temperature
-
Ideal range: 18β27Β°C (65β80Β°F).
π¦ Humidity
-
Dry air is fine β no need for misting.
-
Great for dry indoor environments.
π± Soil
-
Needs well-draining soil β cactus/succulent mix or a mix of potting soil + sand/perlite.
-
Avoid heavy, clay-based soils.
π½οΈ Feeding
-
Fertilize during growing season (spring/summer) every 2β3 months with a balanced, diluted fertilizer.
βοΈ Pruning
-
Remove dead or damaged leaves by cutting close to the base.
-
You can also cut the top (called "beheading") if it gets too tall β a new rosette will grow.
πͺ΄ Potting & Repotting
-
Repot every 2β3 years or when root-bound.
-
Use a sturdy pot with good drainage holes.
