1. Light

• Bright, Indirect Light: Like most Hoyas, it thrives in bright, indirect light. If possible, place it near a window with filtered light. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves.

• Tolerates Some Low Light: It can adapt to low light conditions, but it will grow slower and might not flower as much.

2. Watering

• Let the Soil Dry Between Waterings: Allow the top few inches of soil to dry out before watering. Overwatering is a common mistake with Hoyas, so make sure the plant is in well-draining soil and that the pot has drainage holes.

• Water Less in colder months: During the colder months, Hoya sp. Ternate enters a dormant phase, so it requires less frequent watering.

3. Soil

• Well-Draining, Aerated Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as one designed for orchids, or create a custom mix using regular potting soil, perlite, and bark to improve drainage. A mix that allows water to drain quickly is essential to prevent root rot.

4. Temperature & Humidity

• Warm Temperatures: Keep your Hoya Ternate in temperatures between 60–85°F (16–29°C). It prefers warmer conditions.
