Hoya borneo, like other members of the Hoya genus (also known as wax plants), is a tropical epiphyte known for its thick, waxy leaves and beautiful, often fragrant flowers. Native to Borneo, this Hoya prefers warm, humid conditions and filtered light.

Here's how to care for a Hoya borneo:

🌞 Light

• Bright, indirect light is ideal.

• Can tolerate some morning sun, but avoid harsh midday rays which can scorch the leaves.

• In low light, it may survive but won’t flower easily.

💧 Watering

• Let the soil dry out partially between waterings.

• Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry.

• Reduce watering in cooler months.

• Avoid letting the plant sit in water—root rot is a risk.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

• Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C). 

• Humidity: Prefers high humidity (60–80%). If your home is dry, consider:

  • A humidity tray

  • Regular misting 

  • A humidifier

• Use a well-draining, chunky mix, such as:

  • Orchid bark

  • Perlite
