Ficus Umbellata

A new kid on the block,  With leaves as big as your head, this cousin of the fiddle leaf fig will wow you while not causing you the anxiety that some of the fussier figs do. It's still relatively rare but this stunning house plant lands under the easy to medium level to care for. With the right environment, your new ficus will grow like crazy with its massive leaves it's a real show stopper.

Light: Bright, Indirect light, can tolerate some direct sunlight

Water: Allow the top few inches of soil to dry out before watering thoroughly, and allow to drain, do not allow the plant to stand in water. Reduce the amount of water during the winter.

Temperature: Average household temperatures

Feed: Use a weak solution of complete liquid fertiliser once or twice a month during the growing season

Top Tip: Ficus don't like to be moved so once it's in a spot it likes, leave it there.
